Power source decides whether it works
A cordless inflator is convenient only when its battery is charged. A 12-volt plug depends on the vehicle outlet’s fuse and current limit. Direct battery clamps require more setup but support higher current without relying on the accessory socket.
Duty cycle matters on large tires
Small compressors create heat. The duty-cycle rating tells you how long a compressor can operate before it needs to cool. That matters when recovering from very low pressure or inflating several large tires.
Carry a separate gauge
Preset shutoff and built-in gauges are convenient, but verify final pressure with a reliable separate gauge. Check the inflator periodically, keep every adapter with it, and never exceed the vehicle or tire manufacturer’s pressure limits.
